Obituary: Emily Page, 88

Emily Page (Sckettini), 88, of Beech Avenue, Cranston, died peacefully on Saturday March 23rd surrounded by her family at the Scandinavian Nursing Home.

Emily lived in Cranston for 70 years. She worked at Don’s Restaurant on Pontiac Avenue in Cranston for over 30 years.

She was the wife of the late Philip A. Page.

Born in the Bronx, New York on March 27, 1924, she was the daughter of the late Melina (Agnini) Sckettini and Silvio Sckettini.

She is survived by her son Philip R. Page and his wife Mary of Johnston, Rhode Island and her daughter Dianne McLellan and her husband Wayne of Coventry, Rhode Island. She was the sister of the late Evelyn Hetherington and Margaret "Margie" Lemme. She was the grandmother of four: Christine Ortoleva and her husband Dr. Matthew Ortoleva, Philip J. "PJ" Page and his wife Stephenie, Eric McLellan and Shannon Hayle and her husband Geraghty. She also leaves eight great grandchildren whom she adored.

Emily enjoyed bingo, sewing, crocheting and making delicious cheese cakes. Above all, though she deeply enjoyed her time with her family, especially as she began to welcome grandchildren and great grandchildren into her life. Hosting a Sunday gathering for the family was the best way to spend an afternoon.

Emily was a communicant of St. Matthew’s Church and her faith and constant prayers for her beloved family were always part of her life.

Her funeral will be held on Wednesday at 8:45am from The Butterfield Chapel 500 Pontiac Avenue Cranston followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Matthews Church in Cranston at 10:00am. Burial will follow in the Rhode Island Veterans Cemetery in Exeter. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 5:00-8:00pm.
