Cranston's Piotti Promoted to VP at Uncas

John Piotti, a Cranston resident, has been promoted to Vice President of Operations at Uncas Manufacturing, a Providence-based jewelry company.

A local man has been promoted to a high-level position at a prominent state jewelry manufacturer.

Cranstonian John Piotti, a 1977 graduate of Rhode Island College, has been named Vice President of Operations at Uncas Manufacturing, which is based in Providence and has offices in Florida, California and showrooms in New York City and China.

Piotti joined Uncas in April of 2012 as Division Manager of Operations. His promotion to VP of operations was effective April 1 of this year.

According to a release, Piotti has been an important part of the Uncas team, "recognized for his focus on building and nurturing a team-centric corporate culture, cross-training employees and fostering a modern, flexible workplace where all levels work collaboratively toward the company’s unwavering commitment to competitive pricing, on-time delivery and rigorous quality assurance controls."

In his role as VP, Piotti manages the supply chain and operational logistics "designed to enhance both quality and delivery."

He oversees all business operations with a "strategic concentration on efficiencies and contemporary supply-chain solutions to manage the company's multinational facilities and global operations."

Piotti has more than 35 years of experience in manufacturing, distribution and logistics with a resume that includes jobs at Spiedel Textron, Pepperidge Farm and American Tourister.

"Piotti combines critical thinking and a seasoned perspective to implement innovative operating procedures and best practices while maintaining profitability in the ever-changing global business environment," the company said.
