An armed robber who hit the Subway on Park Avenue last week has done it again, this time robbing the Ocean State Mobil Gas and Convenience Store at 1282 Elmwood Ave. shortly after midnight last night, police said.
Police said the man walked to the counter with a pack of gum and a candy bar. He put some change on the counter and then brandished a black handgun and demanded the clerk to give him all the money in the cash drawer, said Cranston Police Major Robert W. Ryan.
"After taking the money, the suspect warned the clerk not to follow him as he left heading south on Elmwood Avenue," Ryan said.
Police believe the man, described as an older male between 45 and 55, with gray spiked hair.
Cranston Police released images captured during the Subway robbery earlier this weeks in the hopes of identifying him with the public's help. Last night's robbery at the Mobil produced a much clearer picture. Police also now know that he has a distinct colored tattoo of a flower on his left hand.
The suspect wore dark sunglasses, black fleece pajama bottoms with white writing and a dark hooded sweatshirt over a grey hooded sweatshirt.
