Raid Leads Cranston Police to 3.2 Pounds of Pot

Anthony Momplaisir, 35, of 257 Woodbine St., Cranston, was charged with felony possession of marijuana with intent to deliver.

A raid on a Woodbine Street home led Cranston Police to a stash of more than three pounds of marijuana and a 35-year-old Cranston man is now facing felony charges of possession of marijuana with intent to deliver.

Anthony Momplaisir, of 257 Woodbine St., Cranston, was arraigned this morning and ordered held without bail as a Superior Court violator from previous narcotics charges.

Police said the raid was the result of a Cranston Police Special Investigations Unit investigation aided by the Providence Police Narcotics Unit. 

Armed with a search warrant, police intercepted Momplaisir when he came home. Officers conducted their search before he was able to enter his house. Inside, officers found three large bags of marijuana hidden inside a pile of tires in the basement. Another large quantity was found in the front sun room.

Additionally, police found two smaller bags of marijuana in the bedroom and plastic bags and scales to weigh the drug in the kitchen. 

The total weight of the seized marijuana was 3.2 pounds.
