The snow that is expected to arrive sometime later this afternoon has prompted school officials to cancel all after-school activities.
The cancellations include after-school sports.
The district made the call around 11 a.m. this morning.
The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for the afternoon and a Hazardous Weather Outlook in effect till 6 a.m. Tuesday.
Snow is expected to start falling in the middle of the afternoon, changing later in the day to sleet, then freezing rain. Drivers are urged to use extreme caution on their way home as roads are likely to be wet and slick.
The National Weather Service is forecasting a mix of snow and freezing rain to continue through the evening, coming to an end around midnight. Temperatures will not plummet the way they did last week, however, hovering in the low- to mid-30s through the night.
