Johnston Police have filed rape and robbery charges against a Warwick man charged in a Cranston assault and named a "person of interest" in the death of an unidentified woman.
Deputy Chief David DeCesare said that James A. Adams, 31, met the Johnston woman on June 24. Johnston Police allege that Adams raped the woman at his father's residence and stole $200 from her.
Adams is currently being held at the Adult Correctional Institutions, Cranston, on a bail violation following his arraignment on assault charges brought by Cranston Police.
In a separate case, Cranston Police have named Adams a "person of interest" in the death of an unidentified woman whose body was found at a Farmington Street apartment on July 20.
